Evelyn Partridge Memorial Scholarship
A scholarship is being created in memory of Evelyn Partridge by her loving family. Throughout her teaching career, Evelyn showed her students that learning could be fun, and inspired them to never stop learning so they could achieve their dreams.
Evelyn was the first in her family to pursue higher education, graduating from Orange County Community College, University of Bridgeport, and earning a M.S. in Education from SUNY New Paltz in 1974. She taught thousands of students over 30 years as an elementary school teacher in the Wappingers School District, particularly enjoying her years teaching 3rd grade.
In 1976, Evelyn married Richard Partridge, and raised two children, Amy and Gregory, in Dutchess County. Both were encouraged to pursue higher education; their daughter is a pharmacist and their son an engineer.
The Evelyn Partridge Memorial Scholarship is being created to honor Evelyn's passion for education. This scholarship will be awarded to any DCC student pursuing further education in their chosen field.
