 The Pantry and Clothing Closet at DCC

The Pantry at DCC is a welcoming, judgment-free resource dedicated to ensuring that every member of our college community has the essentials they need to thrive, like nutritious food and essential personal care items. Staffed by caring volunteers, it exists thanks to the generosity of faculty, staff, alumni, and community members dedicated to the well-being of our DCC community.

Started in 2020, the Backpack Program has grown into an essential initiative, providing weekend meals and snacks to children and families at the Louis Greenspan Daycare Center, ensuring those in need have consistent access to nutritious food. The Clothing Closet, established in 2021, offers professional and everyday attire, children’s clothing, and accessories—helping students and staff feel prepared and confident as they work toward their goals. In Summer 2024, the Pantry Garden flourished into a hub of growth and opportunity, supplying fresh produce while empowering students with skills in farming, nutrition, and leadership.

More than nourishment, these initiatives provide stability, confidence, and opportunity—shaping a future where every member of our community can thrive.

Shaping the Future—One Gift at a Time

Your generosity directly supports members of the DCC community who are working toward a better future. Whether providing nourishing meals, essential hygiene items, or professional attire, every donation—large or small—helps shape lives and open doors.

Here’s how your support makes an impact:

• $25 – Provides a three-day supply of food and hygiene essentials for five families or ensures that 10 children at the DCC Daycare Center have nutritious meals and snacks for an entire weekend.
• $50 – Extends that support to 10 families or covers two weekends of meals and snacks for 10 young children.
• $100 – Helps 20 families access food and hygiene products or provides a full month of weekend meals for 10 daycare students.
• $200 – Ensures 40 families have the essentials they need for three days or supports two months of weekend meals for 10 children.
• $1,000 – Provides holiday meals for 40 families, bringing comfort and nourishment during a special time of year.
• $5,000 – Sustains the Pantry’s food and hygiene supply for families and covers weekend meals for daycare students for an entire semester.

Every dollar stretches far, meeting immediate needs while offering peace of mind and stability to those facing challenges.
