Registration for HVFLL Regional Tournaments will open at noon on Monday, October 23, 2017 and will close at noon on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 for FLL (senior) teams and Friday, December 15, 2017 for Jr.FLL teams. During that time, a "Register Now" link will be available on this page for registration.

Please read the following paragraph carefully to understand our registration policy.

We operate on a first come first served basis. You must register ONLY for the tournament you plan to attend.  Due to the rapid growth of FLL in the region, our registration policy strives to balance the demand on the HVFLL organizers/volunteers with the demand for tournament slots.  With this in mind, we are offering ten qualifying tournaments, each with 12 FLL team slots for a total of 120 slots. There is no wait list on a per tournament basis, therefore the only way to guarantee a spot is to register for an available tournament. In the spirit of gracious professionalism, we ask that teams register for only one tournament.  If a team registers for more than one tournament, all registrations after the first will be cancelled.  We also ask that teams from outside the HVFLL region not register for one of our tournaments until after November 1, 2017. In the same spirit, we ask that if your team is competing elsewhere prior to the HVFLL tournament, that you do not register for our tournament until after November 1st.  If you could not register your team, please email your contact (email and phone number) and team information to Dr. Akins at akins@sunydutchess.edu to be placed on the wait list.The teams on the wait list will be selected in the order in which they were added, and will be offered a spot at the tournament which has an opening without team preference for location.

For the 2017-2018 season, a total of 10 qualifying tournaments for FLL teams are scheduled. There are 12 senior FLL teams competing in a single tournament insuring that the tournaments are kept to a manageable size and facilitating a high quality experience for everyone attending.  All senior tournaments expect teams to arrive by approximately 8am and award ceremonies are expected to be completed by approximately 3pm.  Not all tournament sites are planning to host FLL Jr. teams but a Jr.FLL Expo is offered for Jr.FLL teams only.  The tournament sites, dates, and teams to be accommodated are listed below and more information is available at https://sites.google.com/site/hudsonvalleyfirstlegoleague/home

There will be two semi-final events to select the teams that advance to the championship.  The semi-finals will be held at Poughkeepsie Day School and NYSUT Headquarters (Latham, NY) on February 10, 2018.  The Regional Championship will be held at Dutchess Community College on February 24, 2018.

All of our sponsors would like to invite you to attend any of our events as a spectator to cheer on the teams. Other than our hosts for each qualifying tournament as listed above, our major sponsors are IBM and New York Tech Valley FIRST and invaluable support provided by Dutchess Community College Foundation.

The registration fee is $70 for each senior team (ages 9-15) and $35 for each junior team (ages 6-9). Registration is a four-step process:

Step 1: Select the event you wish to register for then click NEXT

Step 2: Select 1 then click NEXT

Step 3: Enter required information as indicated below then click NEXT. Note: If you are registering a senior and a junior team at the same time you will need to do this step twice, once for each team. 

Step 4: Enter payment information and click REGISTER.

Step 5: Confirmation of payment. (If you don't get to this page, you are not registered.) 

 

Before you register, please make sure to have the following required information available:

• Originating School/ Organization/Association
• Team Name (a final confirmation of team name will be made two weeks prior to tournament)
• Estimated number of team members
• Town/City and State Where Team Meets Most Regularly
• Official Team Registration Number as assigned by FIRST (this is required for all teams, FLL Jr. and FLL)
• Coaches Names, Emails, and contact phone number
• Credit Card Information (Mastercard, VISA, Discover or American Express are accepted)

NOTE: The only payment option is by a valid credit card.  If you register and do not provide valid credit card information, your registration will not be confirmed.  Purchase orders are not accepted.
